Vision and Goals
Day-to-day conservation work in protected areas like Hwange National Park requires the tools and infrastructure to support the dedicated teams on the ground. One of the most critical of these tools is reliable transport.
Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa is helping strengthen field operations by providing a fully equipped research and operations vehicle to support conservation logistics, water point inspections and coordination with park authorities. The goal is to keep vital conservation work moving efficiently and safely across vast and often challenging terrain.

Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa is proud to partner with Friends of Hwange Trust, a conservation nonprofit dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of wildlife in Hwange National Park through sustainable water management.
Project in Action
Covering more than 14,600 square kilometers, Hwange is Zimbabwe’s largest national park and a critical refuge for elephants and other wildlife. But managing such a large and complex landscape comes with real logistical challenges especially when water points must be monitored daily, supplies delivered, or field teams repositioned across great distances.
With support from the Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa, Friends of Hwange Trust was able to purchase and deploy a new research and operations vehicle. The vehicle plays a key role in maintaining conservation momentum on the ground. It enables daily fieldwork, supports water point inspections, backs up anti-poaching patrols and facilitates improved communication with park authorities.
From transporting personnel to conducting field assessments and responding to incidents, the vehicle is now an indispensable part of Friends of Hwange Trust’s daily operations in Hwange.
