Impact Dashboard
Vision and Goals

The Biodiversity Corridor initiative aims to create a connected, resilient landscape where wildlife and ecosystems thrive alongside communities. To ensure this work is guided by evidence and driven by measurable results, we are developing an interactive dashboard that tracks conservation impact across multiple dimensions, from species monitoring and restoration progress to research outputs and strategic partnerships.

Our goal is to create a transparent, real-time visual tool that communicates progress, success and ecological outcomes to stakeholders, partners and funders. This dashboard will support smarter decision-making, stronger accountability and long-term impact for conservation in the Eastern Cape and beyond.

Partners

Global Humane Conservation Fund of Africa is supporting the development of the Impact Dashboard in partnership with the Conservation Landscapes Institute and other key collaborators. Data shared by formal protected areas in the broader landscape supports real-time ecosystem monitoring and informs decisions around elephant habitat management across the region.

Project in Action

The impact dashboard is designed to integrate key metrics and indicators across CLI’s strategic pillars, providing a comprehensive view of progress in areas such as biodiversity, restoration, wildlife corridors and strongholds for rhino and elephant populations. Designed to translate complex field data into accessible, interactive visuals the Impact Dashboard brings conservation outcomes to life in a way that’s easy to understand and act upon.

Real-time information from field monitoring tools, including camera traps, multi-taxa sampling arrays and vegetation surveys is being incorporated to allow for ongoing ecosystem trend analysis. One of the standout features of the Impact Dashboard will be its ability to showcase outputs from the elephant habitat suitability study. This includes Resource Selection Function (RSF) analyses that inform reserve-level management decisions and support long-term planning for elephant conservation.

The Impact Dashboard will also track restoration progress over time, offering visual updates on baseline protocols and sampling results for multiple restoration methods.
